| The Exfoliating Sponge is made from surplus twigs that usually grows around cocoa trees. It was originally used to give sacred baths to chiefs when they died. These days, it is used for its exfoliating benefits. The sponge provides gentle exfoliation removing dead skin cells and stimulating circulation. The sponges are made by beating the twigs to form long strips of thread and after drying in the sun weave into a ball. These sponges are not dyed or chemically treated. It is soft and absorbent when wet and drains easily after use and so does not hold on to bacteria and fungi growth like loofahs do. It is brittle when dried.
The Exfoliating Sponge is hypo-allergenic, made from a renewable natural resource and 100% biodegradable.
Used with African black soap, it makes a fantastic combination for a daily bathing routine!
Caution: Please do not use sponge on broken or tender skin especially after a chemical exfoliation or peel.
